ANNUAL REPORT 2019-2020 / 2020-2021

" May be there is a road ahead of it,
May be there is a new world down the road,
Walking forth is the only plight,
Because we didn`t come this far to come this far only "

ANNUAL REPORT : 2019-2020/Current Session: 2020-2021

A heart filled with aspirations is all that we knew since the very existence of the school and that`s what gave us the ambition of marching forward till excellence is  achieved in all our endeavours.
This report is comprised of the achievements made during the year gone by and at the same time set the path for greater accomplishments in the years to come.

It gives me immense happiness to highlight the progress at M.G. CONVENT SCHOOL in the Academic year 2019-2020.

After the completion of a very fruitful and a satisfying 2019, it gives me great pleasure to announce that our ninth batch of Class-X and third batch of Class XII brought laurels to our school by giving us a 100% result. Out of 76 students of Class X, the top score was 95.4%, with fifteen students securing above 90% and fifteen students securing above 80%. In class XII, the result was again excellent with the highest score being 94.2%. We would like to mention that the number of students score above 90% in class X is one of the highest scores in the region.

Our new Session began with the Online Orientation Programme for the teachers of the students of classes Pre-Primary to XII due to COVID-19 Pandemic.   The programme made the teachers aware of the scheme of education we impart here at our school.

In order to ensure the enhancement of the quality of education and to promote self-improvement, it has been decided by CBSE to form groups of  5 to 6 neighbourhood schools for collaborative  growth called, Hubs of Learning.

Our endeavour has always been in providing a conducive environment and adopting a holistic approach in grooming the future of our students. As part of this on-going process, it is extremely important that apart from academic excellence, we also emphasise on the allround personality development of students. Keeping this in mind, we feel, inculcating the right habits, mannerisms and the right attitude towards working hard is equally essential right from the day children step into the school and carries on right through their stay in school.

As part of this process, the following are available for our students:

  1. Dedicated full-time digi-classes to further enhance the learning experience through e-learning have been provided for Classes 3rd to 12th.
  2. To ensure better monitoring, CCTV cameras along with speakers have been provided in each classroom, corridors, laboratories as well the playfield.
  3. Our school library is now equipped with over 4000 books ranging from story books, biographies of our great thinkers, philosophers to reference books.
  4. Wherever possible, M.G.Convent School believes in providing a safe and a reliable transport facility to its students. As part of the process, we have been adding a school bus each year. During this session also, another school bus was added in our system. Now your school has 10 buses of its own.
  5. It has been our endeavor to provide a fresh and healthy atmosphere to the children and we have been working towards the beautification of the school campus by plantation of fruit and ornamental trees as an ongoing process.

There is special emphasis for an all-round personality development  which is extremely essential in today’s competitive environment. We also feel that the initial tender years need extra care and children need to spend an adequate amount of time in school.

It has been a priority at M.G. CONVENT SCHOOL to provide a stimulating learning environment for an all-round development of its students. Teaching through Digi-Class to further enhance learning through e-learning is an important element of our system. Computer education is important and is introduced from 1st stage itself.

Developing effective communication skills being one of the basic objectives of the school in today’s competitive environment, extra-curricular activities like Paper Reading, Quiz, Dramatics and Declamations are regularly taken up on Saturdays which are earmarked for this purpose only.

Since ‘Time Management’ is an essential element in today’s fast paced life, a special care was taken to train our students to finish their activities within the stipulated time frame so that they are fully trained and equipped to excel when they reach 10th and 12th.

The School has a well equipped library covering varied spheres like science, language skills, literature, encyclopedias, dictionaries, Special Magazines and Newspaper. The students have an easy access to the library under the supervision  of the Librarian.

Apart from academics, co-curricular activities and celebrations have always been a regular feature at M.G. CONVENT SCHOOL, Foundation Day, Environment Day, Teacher’s Day, Grand-Parents Day and the School Exhibition (covering Art & Craft, Science, Mathematics, EVS, Social Studies, Computers, English and Hindi) were organized by the school but students have to perform their activities at home due to COVID-19 Pendemic.

To develop a spirit of healthy competition and to excel, various competitions were held in the school during the year. Prayer Recitation, Poetry Recitation, Slogan Writing, Poster Making, English and Hindi Calligraphy, Story Narration, Paper Reading and Declamation Competitions were held in which all the students participated enthusiastically.

Hygienic filtered water is provided by the school. Lunch is had in a clean and a comfortable lunch room under the guidance of the teachers and the maids. There is a proper arrangement for serving warm food. We have also made the facility of temperature regulation in each class room by way of fans and room heaters.

In order to ensure balanced growth of a child, regular interaction of the school and the parents is of utmost necessity. So, a Parent-Teacher Meeting is held on every month where the parents get a feed back about their child’s progress online. Printed monthly progress reports, syllabus covered in the previous month and proposed to be covered in the coming month are handed over to the parents online.  Parents are encouraged to attend these meetings and since these meetings play a vital role in bridging the relationship between the parents and the teachers, we even personally call parents who are unable to attend.

During my almost 4 years interaction with parents at the school, I have found you all a very enlightened group who take their parenting role very seriously. I would like to thank the parents of my dear students, without whom we are not complete. We are aware of the great trust you have reposed in us and it will be our constant endeavour to live upto to it.

I express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Amandeep Singh, Our Honourable Chairman, for his persistent support. He has made unrelenting efforts in equipping the students to meet the changing needs of the society, exploring the professional potential and cultivating a happy and motivating environment in school. Sir, you are and will always be, a source of strength to all of us. I would also like to thank Mr. Bhuvnesh Dubey, Our Manager Mam Mrs. Veena Kumari, for her unflinching support and cooperation and for making things happen very efficiently and smoothly at the school, Mam, you are a great source of inspiration to all of us.

My report would be incomplete if I did not make mention of my wonderful team of teachers and staff who work with extreme dedication  and put in their efforts in pursuit of excellence. They, infact, are the strong pillars of our school.

As we look towards the days ahead, we seek the blessings of the almighty for a progressive and a prosperous future.

Celebration Of National Sports Day- As u all know, today`s day is very special for people of India in general and especially for the people who watch and play games as today is National Sports Day. We celebrate this auspicious day on a great level to dedicate it to the Legend of India , Major Dhyaan Chand. He was born on 29th of August, 1905 in Allahabad. He was a player of great significance and represented India in hockey at Olympic Games for 3 times, in 1928, 1932 and 1936. Moreover, he was honoured to become a Caption of National Hockey Team.
M.G. Convent School, Himmatpura (Moga), gives the heartiest wishes to all on this day. We pray that you all stay healthy and fit, and participate in games to bring name and fame to your parents. This day is celebrated in M.G. Convent School, but due to Covid-19 students performed physical activities from their respective homes and vowed to stay healthy and be attached with the sports.
